13,000 Guests Attended the Opening of Hudson Yards—Anne Hathaway and Gisele Included

With a guest list rumored to have climbed past 10,000 attendees, the celebration marking the opening of Hudson Yards, on Manhattan’s West Side, may not have been the most exclusive ticket in town, but it was certainly where everyone wanted to be.

Spanning a staggering 18 million square feet full of shimmering glass, steel, and polished marble, it’s nothing short of an entirely new neighborhood that, to most New Yorkers, seems to have sprung up overnight. In reality, it’s been more than a decade in the making.

“I go to a lot of trade shows at the Javits Center over here and have spent hours walking around; my fondest memories of this place are just lugging around catalogs,” Dylan Lauren remarked, marveling at the soaring interiors before moving on to welcome guests to her latest outpost of Dylan’s Candy Bar. Billy Porter chose to phrase the same sentiment a bit more succinctly. “This was no man’s land until a couple of years ago!” he said.
