Women in the World Canada Summit September 10 Toronto
Women in the World returned to Canada for the second year in a row on September 10 and held a Summit in Torontoat Koerner Hall, TELUS Centre for Performance and Learning.
Canada’s 23rd Prime Minister the Right Honorable Justin Trudeau, IMF managing director Christine Lagarde and award-winning journalist and bestselling author Katie Couric were the first to take the stage. Also appearing at the event were actress and activist Mira Sorvino, director and screenwriter Steve McQueen, author, actress and director Amber Tamblyn, actress Rosamund Pike, actor Jamie Dornan director Matthew Heineman, comedian Michael Ian Black, physician and ICNA Relief volunteer Dr. Fozia Alvi, journalist Masha Gessen, Academy Award-winning filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, the Honorable Chrystia Freeland, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Honorable Maryam Monsef Canada’s Minister on Status of Women, among others.
